Knights of Columbanus

Council of Knights No.11 - Lurgan, Co. Armagh, Provincial Area 3

The Knights of St. Columbanus (KOSC) are an Order of Catholic laymen dedicated to the service of Christ in daily life, in the workplace, the marketplace, in City, Urban and Provincial areas.

We welcome into our ranks, Catholic men, in full communion with the Church, who would wish to bring to the service of Christ their talents and skills towards the promotion of Christian values and principles in Society, for the greater Honour and Glory of God the Father.

The KOSC was formed in 1915 in Belfast. Lurgan was the 11th council of Knights to be formed in Ireland and was established here in 1920.

We undertake to support our clergy, our faith and our parish in a variety of ways. The work focuses are:
Supporting faith development

  • Charitable work
  • Social justice

Nationally, we are sponsor the Saint John Paul II awards.

Below is a short summary of the work we undertake here in, not just in Lurgan but across the Deanery.

Introduction

Our meetings continue to be well structured around action plan priorities and sub groups who focus upon these priorities. We are always keen to have any man of faith join us as we continue our work as role models for young men in our community and promote the work of Jesus in all our lives.

We can be contacted via the parish office or at mass with any of our members.
